Wich is the nearest airport?
The nearest one is Florence “Amerigo Vespucci” often known as Peretola but Tuscany’s main airport is in Pisa “Galileo Galilei”. To reach Sovigliano from Pisa airport you have to consider 75 minutes by car, from Florence 50 minutes.

Where it’s possible to rent a car?
All the major rental car firms have rental offices at both airports. However, it is wise to make arrangements before your departure, as it will cost far less than renting after you arrive in Italy.

Are we obliged to have a car for our tours through the area?
If you are staying in the countryside and visiting little towns is always advisable. Sovigliano is 1 kilometer far from Tavarnelle village. From here it’s possible to reach Florence and Siena, during the day, using local services. For taxi you must book in advance.

If I don’t want to get into Florence and Siena with my car can I go by train?
There isn’t a train station in Tavarnelle. You can easily reach Florence and Siena by bus from Tavarnelle village, where you can leave your car for the whole day in a free parking place. Maps and schedules are available in Sovigliano.

Where I can get all the informations I may need when I’m there?
We are happy to suggest restaurants and local itineraries including historic sites, picturesque villages and cultural activities. You are free to pick up maps, schedules of special events and sightseeing information you always find at Sovigliano. Moreover one of our family member remains always at Sovigliano at your disposal for any practical need you might have.

What is included in the rental rate?
Rental rate includes accommodation rental, water, gas, electricity, wood for the fireplace, linen for bedroom and kitchen, towels for the bathroom and swimming pool, final cleaning, cleaning and linen change after one week of stay and assistance during all your stay. We specify if it’s included breakfast at the beginning, when we describe type of accommodation available.

When it’s open the swimming pool and how big is?
The swimming pool is open from April through October, only for our guests use, without any limitation of time except for daily cleaning. The size is 14x7 metres plus a hydro-massage corner. Its entire length looks onto the sea of hills that characterizes the Elsa Valley. From this spot you can count the towers of San Gimignano .

Is it possible to walk to town?
Sure, it’s a quiet and safe walk to Tavarnelle. The main square is far 20 minutes.
